Les specializes in strategic consulting, financing and analysis for a variety of industries and disciplines and is an expert in dealing with owner managed businesses.
Les has been a partner with the firm since 1989 and has more than 35 years of experience in accounting and auditing and taxation. His practice focuses on a number of key niches, including manufacturing, IT related businesses, franchising, real estate, and professional service firms (doctors, lawyers etc.). Les also has significant expertise in estate planning and family succession planning.
In the manufacturing arena, he works with companies to help clients comply with financing and financial reporting requirements as well as to understand and analyze cost systems for operations and potential acquisitions and divestitures. Les also serves as a trusted advisor to owner managed businesses and also works with both active and potential franchisors and franchisees. His work with franchisors includes compliance work, expansion consulting, and succession planning. He also assists clients with prospective acquisitions and divestitures from a strategic and taxation perspective. Les is involved on an ongoing basis offering financial and profitability consulting to his clients – during good times and bad – to help them improve both their bottom line and achieve their goals to gain a better quality of life. He also regularly assists clients with obtaining and renegotiating their financing for with various financial institutions and 3rd party lenders.
Les a graduate of the University of Toronto and is married with three children. He is also a member of the Canadian and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants, Society of Trust and Estate Planners, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, Society of Trust and Estate Planners, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He is also a past president of the York District Chartered Professional Accountants Association.
